The District Pastor of the Church of Pentecost, Ottawa District, Evangelist Gabriel Addo-Asante has admonished Christians to obey God in order to attract His blessings in the new year.

Evangelist Addo-Asante said this when he delivered the sermon titled “If you obey…” during the Watchnight Service organized by the district in Ottawa.

Referring to Leviticus 26, the recently ordained evangelist of the church admonished the congregants to keep themselves from idolatry and remain focused on God. He also admonished the church to keep worshipping and reverencing God by keeping His Sabbaths holy.

“If worship is not based on reverencing God, it does not matter the inputs; it does not qualify to be classified as the worship of God,” he emphasized.

Finally, he implored the church to continually obey the written word of God as that is the only way to attract his blessings. Expanding on this, he mentioned that every blessing of God is attached to a condition of obedience. Therefore, one cannot expect to be blessed by God if they live in disobedience.

“In 2024, if only we become obedient to the word of God, He will not only grant us divine rain that will cause divine increase or bless us with divine protection and  power to overcome our enemies and challenges that come our way, but also, He will grant us divine favour, divine supplies, divine presence and divine leadership,” he concluded.

The service was well-attended by members from the PIWC assembly, Emmanuel Assembly and the LoveGate Worship Centre Assembly.
